Happiness is an indicator if certain tasks that units perform or things that happen to units are negative or positive. The happiness value ranges from -100 to 100, and is displayed when hovering over the happiness bar. The value displayed in the happiness bar itself is a percentage, and is calculated as (happiness value + 100) / 200.

Effects[edit]

Happiness itself currently only has a few effects:

  • Units having a higher chance of staying at home longer if they have 50% or less happiness
  • When two units converse, the more similar their happiness values are, the more likely they are to become best friends (units can only have one best friends) (best friends are not lovers but they can be). Units can only have one best friend and best friends aren't necessarily lovers, nor does being a unit's best friend increase the chances of become lovers.
  • Used for graphs and game stats:

Happiness Icon[edit]

The happiness icon displayed in game changes based on the current happiness ratio:

A units happiness cannot change and won't appear if their subspecies does not have the File:Subspecies trait amygdala10x.pngAmygdala trait or if the unit is an File:IconEgg.pngegg. Certain tasks (specifically the darker ones) will have no effects on units with the psychopath creature trait. Players can decrease a unit's happiness by "poking" them (clicking them in their unit menu, this also deals damage).

Happiness Scenario List[edit]

Effect = Effect on happiness value, File:IconPsychopath10x.png= Ignored by psychopaths (has no effect), PA = Pot Amount (Amount of the task added during reflection, see Unit Tasks page for more info), Dialogue = By going into a unit's menu you can see things they say in reaction to happiness effects. One dialogue is chosen randomly among all available dialogue lines for whatever happiness effect has happened.
