Description[edit]
Unlike Tumors, Grey Goo only appears as black tiles that slowly eat out the map.
Game Description "Nano bots? Virus? DESTRUCTION"
Characteristics[edit]
Grey Goo will try to eat an entire map down to the deep ocean level and kill all creatures living in a world. Grey goo will eventually disappear if it doesn't have any tiles to spread to.
You can destroy the goo by using the sponge, heat ray, explosives, or by placing terrain on top it. Using nukes to destroy Grey Goo can earn the "Last Resort" achievement.
When units stand on grey goo they take 200 damage and can only walk 10% as fast.

Trivia[edit]
- Using the vortex power on grey goo generates new "semi-stable" grey goo tiles that do not disappear over time. However if you save and re-load the world with these "semi-stable" grey goo tiles, they will become unstable again and disappear.
- Grey Goo is a theoretical end of the world scenario in which self-replicating nanomachines consume all biomass of a planet to build more of themselves, leaving behind a "grey goo" consisting entirely of nanomachines. It has appeared in numerous stories and video games.
- Grey Goo is a character in Tasty Planet
- There is a video game with the same name.
- Grey Goo is displayed in the tutorial bear's script.
