Books

Books are a specialized resource stored by villages that give units that read them various stat effects.
Writing Books[edit]
All civs that a members of a clan are able to write books using the New Book plot. They need to have:
At least 3 intelligence and at least 2 warfare, stewardship, and diplomacy

- File:IconMoney10x.pngCan spend 200 gold
- File:Plot new book.pngHas a culture, language, and their home village has book space available (if the civ loses any of these the plot cancels)
Storing Books[edit]
Cities have a limited amount of storage for books that specific buildings increase. If these buildings are destroyed then so are the books they store.
- Libraries give cities 10 book slots
- Town Halls give cities 5 book slots

Book Creation and Reading Books[edit]
Once a New Book plot is successful the game will determine how the book is created:
- Determines the book type by randomly selecting based on that type's "Writing Rate" for the writer
- File:IconStrongMinded10x.pngBook gets a random creature trait from the writer's traits that are in the "Mind" category (50% chance for a reader to get this trait)
Book gets a random language trait from the writer's language (this trait will have add a special effect to what happens when books are read) (if the reader is a king or a leader their is a 50% chance this trait is added to their language)
- File:IconReligionList10x.pngBook gets a random religion trait from the writer's religion (if the reader is a king or a leader their is a 50% chance this trait is added to their religion)
- File:NewIconCultureList10x.pngBook gets a random culture trait from the writer's culture (if the reader is a king or a leader their is a 50% chance this trait is added to their culture)
- Divine Encryption, Divine Insight, and Ethno Sculpted cannot not be in books
After units finish reading a book:
- File:Culture trait reading lovers.pngIf the reader's culture has the Reading Lovers trait and the reader's happiness is below zero then the reader's happiness is multiplied by -1
- File:Culture trait attentive readers.pngIf the reader's culture has the Attentive Readers trait then the reader gets double experience from the book
- File:Language trait stylish writing.pngBooks also have a chance to convert the reader's culture, language, and/or religion to the book's own. The Stylish Writing language trait doubles the conversion/no conversion chance
