UFO Behavior[edit]

UFOs have four "modes" of behaviour:

Exploration Mode[edit]

In this mode, UFOs lower their speed to 10, and head to a random position within the current chunk or adjacent chunks, looking for signs of civilization

If the chosen location happens to be within the boundaries of a village, the village is listed as an attack target. The UFO enters normal flying mode, and prepares to launch an attack.

Otherwise, if the location is not inside a village, the UFO continues in exploration mode.

Normal Flying Mode[edit]

In this mode, UFOs set their speed to 20, and head to their target village.

Within the city, the UFO randomly selects a location next to a building, and attacks with their laser beams. Every round, they attack 3-10 times.

Chase Mode[edit]

When a UFO in the exploration mode or normal flying mode is hit by another creature, it enters chase mode.

In this mode, the UFO raises its speed to 50, and pursues and attacks the closest creature.

Flee Mode[edit]

When a UFO in the exploration mode or normal flying mode is damaged (but the damage is not dealt by a creature), it enters flee mode.

In this mode, the UFO raises its speed to 100, and flees to a random location in the current chunk or adjacent chunks.

More Info[edit]

  • Aliens can only appear in a world from the crashing/death of a ufo. If you don't have premium to be able to spawn a ufo an alternative is to wait for several to spawn during the "Alien Invasion" disaster that can happen during the Age of Moon.
  • Both UFOs and Aliens do not need food.
  • The UFO cannot be turned into any undead creatures, but the alien can be turned into a mush, tumor or ghost

Creature Specific Info[edit]

UFO[edit]

  • They float around observing the world and only attacking when provoked, which is usually only possible if another unit has a ranged weapon like a bow or staff
  • You can see the silhouette of the alien piloting the UFO through the green dome at the top of the UFO
  • When UFOs crash, they explode and deal 50 damage to creates in range (which is about ~4 tiles in radius)
  • When the player clicks/holds their finger on the UFO it will fire its laser (sometimes this will not work consistently)

Alien & Alien Blaster[edit]

  • Aliens are armed with a Alien Blaster that can deal area of effect damage and will deal around 30 damage with a direct hit and even more with a critical. This value depends on how far the projectile exploded from the target. They also inflict large knockback.
  • The Alien Blaster is one of the only gun related weapons currently in Worldbox alongside the Shotgun from Assimilator units.
  • The blaster fires "plasma balls" at high speeds toward it's victims. It is very powerful and can be an overpowered weapon in the hands of a civilization during war.

Trivia[edit]

  • Reaching level 45 on the worldbox discord gives you the UFO role.
  • A UFO is displayed in the tutorial bear's script.
  • The UFO statue resembles the old UFO texture.
  • UFOs used to be and are depicted in several official art pieces as gold instead of sliver
