Language is a new meta-object coming to worldbox. They will now have their own trait editor and have a major influence on civilized species.

Languages was the third meta object revealed to the community. They’ll become a key part of unit progression and the growth of civilizations. Much like cultures, languages will influence [[Kingdom Opinions|opinions]], [[loyalty]], and now, learning. Previously, units gained random [[Unit Stats|attributes]] - such as [[File:WarfareStatFIX.png|frameless|28x28px]]Warfare, [[File:DiplomacyStat10x.png|frameless|28x28px]]Diplomacy, [[File:IconGenius10x.png|frameless|28x28px]]Intelligence, or [[File:Stewardship10x.png|frameless|28x28px]]Stewardship - simply by aging. With this update, [[Clans|clan]] members can write [[File:BookStack10x.png|frameless|28x28px]]books, and others can read them (if they know the language or possess a specific [[Traits|trait]]). Books will grant experience to readers, making it possible for non-warrior characters to [[Unit Levels|level up]] (level cap has been increased) without combat. They can also influence [[mood]] and happiness. Religion will also be transferable through books. 

A book plot has been seen in action in the [[:File:BookploticonS10x.png|background of a teaser]] with a new progression indicator. It has been speculated this [[File:PawSymbol10x.png|frameless|28x28px]][[Subspecies News|subspecies]] trait called [[File:BrainLangS10x.png|frameless|28x28px]]"Advanced Prefrontal Cortex" ('''speculative''' name) will determine if species can develop a language. 

Similar to biological traits passed through birth, certain traits can now be shared through books and small talks, adding yet another layer to the civ-simulation. Languages and cultures won’t just belong to one species, they can cross borders. Even if a civilization is wiped out, their legacy can survive through their books. And just like cultures and subspecies, languages can be customized using the Language Trait Editor.

Hypothetical Scenario: An ancient demon kingdom lies in ruins, but their language and culture endure in dusty tomes scattered across the land. If an ordinary mortal dares to read one of these hellish books, they might melt under its sheer power, unless, of course, they’re fireproof (or have a drink nearby). But if someone succeeds? They could revive the demon culture, bringing it into their city.
