The '''Beach [[:Category:Biomes|Biome]],''' also known as the "Sand" or "Desert" Biome, is a "special biome" found within [[WorldBox|Worldbox]]. Units will move 50% slower on sand [[tiles]]. The desert has two sub-types that appear depending on the proximity of water. These two sub-types can meld together freely if the patch of sand they inhabit is large enough.

* Cacti '''Deserts''' form where sand tiles are located inland and aren't close to any bodies of water. These sand tiles grow exclusively cacti
* Coastal '''Beaches''' , or Palm Forests appear where sand is close to water. These tiles grow exclusively palm trees

* [[File:IconFertilizerTrees10x.png|frameless|56x56px]] The only flora here are the palm trees and/or cacti. Palm trees when cut down will give coconuts, eating a coconut can give the shield [[Unit Statuses|status]]. Cacti are immune to drought ([[Ages|Age]] of Sun effect)

*The beach biome is one of the game's first biomes
*It is a biome that exists because of the presence of sand [[tiles]], and has no seed power tied to it
*The beach biome is the one of three biomes made from something other than seeds (the others being the [[Wasteland Biome|Wasteland]] and [[Hill Biome|Hill]] biomes)
*Civilizations briefly needed the [[Subspecies Traits|subspecies]] sand adaptation trait to be able to build in the beach. This was removed in the 0.50.1 patch
